CHALLENGE ROPES COURSE
GIANT WALL

RING HOMESTEAD CAMP has been family owned since 1978.  We offer children and adults of all ages a variety of outdoor activities that promote fun, safety, and education.  Among the activities that are offered, we are most known for our "Outdoor Ropes Confidence Course".  Typically the session runs for 4 hours.  However, we can customize your visit to fit your specific needs.  During the visit, the participants engage in activities that challenge them both physically and mentally.  They also provide opportunities for building team spirit, collaborating, increasing self-esteem, improving self-confidence, and developing problem solving strategies.

Zip Tree

We have over 55 activities, containing both high and low elements, to challenge participants.  The course is inspected every year and is fully insured.  Examples of some activities include:  "Rope Ladder", "Cargo Net", "Two Strand Bridge" and "Zip Line".  Some activities allow for the opportunity to climb trees and repel from high wires.  When the participants arrive, they are broken into groups and assigned a highly trained facilitator (guide).  The adventure is on!

As the students start school each year, teachers are faced with the ongoing problem of how to reach each child in the classroom, so that he or she can learn the skills needed to meet the ever challenging New York State standards.  Let us show you how the ropes course and team building activities will accommodate multiple intelligence levels and various learning styles.

We offer a wide range of High Ropes Course elements and activities used for Team Building and Leadership Development. These types of skills are in high demand  for camps, schools and the workforce.

MULTIPLE INTELLIGENCE AND LEARNING STYLES AS RELATED TO THE ROPES COURSE

CENTIPEDE - Climb up a 2 x 2 section of wood that moves in different directions making it a more challenging element
ROPE CLIMB - a knotted rope to climb to test your strength
FIDGET LADDER - climb from bottom to top without falling off
TIRE TRAVERSE - swing from one tire to another without touching the ground
CAT WALK - walk across planks of wood without falling off
PORT HOLE - requires teamwork to put everyone in your group through the tire without touching it
Pricing
The Ropes Course is up to 4 hours and is $31.00 per person plus tax, with a minimum of 6 people.  Or up to 6 people for $201.11.  We recommend sneakers and long pants.  Call us at 845-361-3842 to make a reservation.  We can accomodate large groups and we can tailor any program to fit the needs of the participants.  Click on the icon below to download a copy of our ropes waiver to begin your adventure.

FROM : CAMP SANZ
Dear Mr. Ring
On behalf of my eighth grade campers of Camp Sanz, I would like to express my sincere thanks for a truely wonderful trip. I was extremely impressed by the warmth and courtiousness of you and your staff. You were both helpful and friendly, and made us all feel right at home. The boys can't stop talking about the thrilling rope activities they did at Ring Homestead.Their only regret was that they had to leave. I highly recommend these activities for active 12-13 year olds, seeing how much my boys enjoyed them. Please convey our thanks to your great staff, and I hope to see you again in the future.

From the Orange County B.O.C.E.S
To Whom it May Concern,
I am writing in reference to my experience with the Ring Homestead Camp. In a period of two years we have had over three hundred special education students attend the program.
These students are primarily adolestscents labeled Learning Disabled and Emotionally Handicapped. Their participation has been in the adventure activities including the Ropes and Confidence Course . The students and staff have been extremely enthusiastic and responsive.
Ring Homestead Camp has demonstrated an excellent relationship and teaching skills in adapting to the needs of our students. They provided fine instruction and ensured a variety of "success" levels for all students. They also worked extremely well with the staff to provide them with support skills and engaged them in the total program.
I  would recommend, without reservation, the Ring's and their program . Our experience has been extremely positive and the highest quality. The people, program and facilities are excellent.

Amazing! Exciting! Challenging!  Fun!  These are just a few of the words that I've been hearing from both our teachers and students since we left the  "Homestead". The trip was truely a remarkable experience for our entire goup.
I was most impressed with your unique abilities: both to motivate and guide our students, and to maintain solid group control. You were extremely patient yet encouraging with our activities. ( I still can't believe I climbed a 40 foot wall !) They were also tremendous for enhancing group dynamics and support. I loved the way you had everyone cheer for each other : whether a kid was 50 feet in the air or just a few feet above the ground.
Needless to say , I am now recommending your place to my friends and colleages. And , of course we are planning our return trip.
Finally, a special thanks for your help and assistance for those extra three hours when our bus was delayed . It was very much appreciated.
                                                                     Sincerely,
David B. Lazerson , Director Sp. Ed. Dept
